Homemade French Fries

The taste of homemade French fries is far superior than the frozen ones.   Also you know you are serving your family something which is cooked by you with no additional preservatives.  My kids loved it and so did my husband.  Thanks to my sis-in-law for introducing me to “Perfect Fries” cutter which made life a bit easier.

Ingredients:

  • 6-7 potatoes
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Sea Salt
  • garlic powder
  • Paprika

Directions:

Heat the vegetable oil in a kadhai on a medium heat.  While the oil is getting to the temperature needed we will wash and peel the potatoes.  Wash them once again to make sure it is clean after peeling.  Cut the potatoes lengthwise or use Perfect Fries cutter which is what I have used here.

You can test the oil by putting a fry to see if it is hot enough or use a thermometer to check the temperature.  Slide the potatoes into the oil and cook them until light brown.

Drain them on a napkin to soak the excess oil.  In a bowl, put the french fries and season them with sea salt, garlic powder and paprika.  Mix it with your hands or using a fork to make sure that the fries are coated evenly.

Serve them hot along with your favorite burger or sandwich as a side or eat them as a snack on a day when its raining outside with a cup of hot tea.
