Kadai Paneer, a lip smacking dish from the northern part of India which is served with naan, roti or paratha or can be enjoyed as an appetizer too.
Recipe type: Veg
Cuisine: Indian
Serves: 4
  • 14 ounces paneer cubed and fried (shallow fry in a pan)
  • 1 small green pepper, cubed
  • ½ red bell pepper, cubed
  • 1 red onion cubed
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¾ tsp cumin
  • ¾ tsp kasuri methi
  • 3-4 garlic chopped
  • 1 inch ginger chopped
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp or to taste kadhai masala
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • ½ tsp garam masala (used homemade)
  • ½ cup tomato puree
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 dry whole red dry chilies
  1. In a kadhai, heat the oil. Add the cumin seeds and dry red chilies and let it crackle. Add garlic and ginger to it and saute for a few seconds. Now add the cubed onions and cook until light pinkish color.
  2. Now add the bell pepper both red and green and sautee for a few minutes.. After sautéing the veggies, add the tomato puree and mix well. Also add salt, turmeric, kadhai masala, garam masala, red chili powder and paprika
  3. Let it cook it until the raw smell of tomato puree is gone. Then add the fried paneer cubes and mix well so all the masala covers the paneer cubes and cover it. Cook for a few minutes so the flavors marry. Now add the kasuri methi and mix. Your kadai paneer is ready to eat.
  4. Enjoy it with a paratha, naan, roti or as an accompaniment with a daal, raita or some other curry.
