Recipe type: From the Oven
Cuisine: American
Serves: 30
  • 12 oz all purpose flour
  • 5 oz powdered sugar
  • 8 oz unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 5 oz walnuts or pecans, slightly toasted & chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup powdered sugar, for rolling
  • ¼ snow sugar for dusting (will find it in confectionery store)
  1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. The more you whip the softer the cookies will be.
  2. Then add vanilla essence along with toasted walnuts or pecans to it. Now add the flour and mix it using your hands. The dough will be super soft and sticky. After you mixed everything properly, refrigerate it for a few minutes so that you can handle the dough easily.
  3. Make balls by taking a little dough at a time and roll them in the powdered sugar. Place it on the baking sheet. Preheat the oven at 350F and bake it for 12 mins.
  4. Pull it out and let it cook down on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes and then transfer it to the cooling rack.
  5. Once it cools down, dust the cookies with snow sugar using the strainer. If you don't have snow sugar then dust it with powdered sugar.
  6. Enjoy it with a cup of tea or coffee.
