  • 1 loaf stale bread ( used hot dog buns)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1.5- 2 tbsp custard powder
  • 6-7 tbsp sugar
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1.5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tsp raisins
  1. Tear the bread slices into small pieces and set aside. In a pot, add milk, butter, custard powder, and sugar. Whisk it well. Place it on a gas and bring it to boil. This will help the custard to cook a little bit and also will help melt the butter and dissolve the sugar. Keep stirring it using the whisk. Once it comes to a boil, turn the gas off.
  2. Add vanilla essence to it and mix it. Now add the bread pieces into the hot milk. Make sure that the bread is soaked fully. Grease the small ramekins or the baking pan. Pre heat the oven at 350F. Fill each ramekin with the bread mixture up to the top. Add a few raisins on to it and push it in.
  3. Once the oven is ready, Place all the ramekins on a sheet pan and bake it. Bake it for 25-30 mins and you will the top part is turning slightly brown. Pull it out and let them cool down a bit.
  4. Top it with whip cream or vanilla ice cream and enjoy.
