Singoda Halwa

Singoda Halwa is a quick gluten free dessert that can be made under 30 minutes and can be consumed during Navratri or any other fasting.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup singoda flour chestnut flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2-3 tbsp ghee clarified butter
  • 8-10 slivered almonds garnishing

Instructions
 

  • In a kadhai or a heavy bottom pot, add the ghee. Once slightly heated add the flour and roast it on slow to medium heat. Keep stirring so it doesn't get burnt.
  • In another sauce pan, add a cup of water along with sugar and place it on the gas. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Turn the gas off.
  • Once the flour is roasted, add the simple syrup to it. Stir it continuously so no lumps are formed. Keep stirring until it all comes together off the pan. Once its comes off the pan, your halwa is ready to be served.
  • Garnish it with slivered almonds and serve hot.
