Aam ki Launji (Chutney)

Aam ki Launji, a sweet and sour condiment which will take your meal to the next level with its tanginess specially when you are enjoying an Indian Meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 mangoes half kacha pakka, cubed ( you can use kachhe too)
  • salt to taste
  • ½ tsp kalonji onion seeds
  • ½ tsp saunf fennel seeds
  • ¾ tsp roasted cumin powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp vinegar
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 3-4 tbsp sugar or as per taste
  • pinch of asafetida powder hing

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a pan, and add hing powder, kalonji, saunf. Saute for a minute or so until slightly done. Then add the cubed mango pieces along with red chili powder, salt, cumin powder, and turmeric. Cover it and saute for 7-8 minutes. Do not over cook it.
  • Add sugar and vinegar to the mixture. Now simmer for a few minutes uncovered. The mixture should be mushy and a little bit gravy. It is not necessary that there will be gravy.
  • Your Aam ki Kaunji is ready. Store in the air tight container and keep refrigerated. Enjoy this sweet and sour chutney with your meal.
