Ingredients

  • 2 cups gram flour besan
  • 1 small red onion chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies chopped
  • cilantro chopped
  • salt to taste
  • pinch of turmeric
  • ¼ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp amchoor powder
  • water to make the batter
  • olive oil

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add besan and make sure there are not lumps and then add water to it. Mix it well making sure it is a smooth batter. The batter shouldn't be too thick or thin. A little more water than a pancake batter.
  • Add chopped onions, green chilies, cilantro, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, amchoor. After adding all the ingredients, mix everything together. Heat the flat pan, preferably non-stick. Add a 3/4 tsp of oil and put a ladle full of batter in the middle of the pan and spread it using the ladle in a circular motion.
  • Let it cook on slow to medium heat. Then turn on the other side, and drizzle a little oil on the edges. Let it cook for a few minutes. If you like it crispy then you might have to add a little oil so it can cook.
  • Serve it hot with mint chutney or ketchup as per your preference.
