Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of pound cake used store bought
  • 1.5 cups fresh strawberries washed and sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries washed
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • ¼ cup pastry cream Optional
  • 1 quart heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar adjust the sweetness per your taste

Instructions

  • First of all cut the cake you are using into cubes and set aside
  • In an electric mixer start whipping the heavy cream and half way through you can add pastry cream powder and whip it until it is blended well. Add powdered sugar to it and blend a few times more. The consistency shouldn't be too thick. It should be a little runny so it seep through the cake.
  • Wash all the berries and set aside. Cut the fresh strawberries in small chunks and set aside.
  • Now we are going to assemble it all together. Place a layer of the cake in the trifle bowl and now we will be pouring a layer of cream.
  • Sprinkle your cut strawberries and blueberries on top of the cream layer.
  • Repeat the process of layering cake, cream and fruit until you reach the top of the bowl.
  • Use your berries to decorate like I did or you can use a piping bag and the tip of your choice, make a rosettes with whip cream on top or any other design.
  • Decorate as per your choice.
  • Place it in the refrigerator for a few hours so that the cream seeps through and everything is set. Serve cold.
