This Homemade Tzatziki Sauce is creamy, refreshing and perfect for gyros, grilled meats, or as a healthy appetizer.

- ½ cup finely grated cucumber
- 1 cup thick whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ½ tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 garlic clove grated
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint optional
Wash and grate the cucumber. ( you can peel it if you want )Squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel.
In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Stir in chopped dill or mint (if using)
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. This makes a big difference in taste
