Homemade Tzatziki Sauce | Greek Style Yogurt Dip

This Homemade Tzatziki Sauce is creamy, refreshing and perfect for gyros, grilled meats, or as a healthy appetizer.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup finely grated cucumber
  • 1 cup thick whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove grated
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint optional

Instructions
 

  • Wash and grate the cucumber. ( you can peel it if you want )Squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel.
  • In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir in chopped dill or mint (if using)
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors meld. This makes a big difference in taste
