There are so many sweets out there, but Ladoo is one of common sweets prepared during weddings, festivals or any other happy occasion. ย Started this week with Eid and Teej, festival season has begun. ย I know I am a couple of days late, but wasn’t home to prepare anything in time. ย It is always better late than never, so decided to make something easy which is loved by everyone. ย Eid Mubarak & Happy Teej to all my readers.
My daughter tried these ladoos for the first time and fell in love with them. ย Rakshabandhan is around the corner, ย this would be a lovely treat made with love for your brothers.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup ladoo besan (or regular besan)
- 1/4 cup or a little more but less than 1/2 cup ghee
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar (you can add 1 cup if you like it sweet)
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp milk powder
- 1 tbsp crushed pistachios for garnish
Directions:
In a kadhai or a heavy bottom pot heat the ghee (clarified butter) to a smoking point. ย Lower the heat to medium and add besan to it..
Mix it until the besan changes the color, ย and until the raw small is gone.
Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and milk powder to the mixture. ย Turn the gas off and mix well. ย Let it cool down until you are able to handle it in your hand to make the ladoos.
After the mixture cools down, take a small portion in your hand and make a fist. This will help it bring together. ย Roll it in between your palms and give it a shape of ball.
Garnish it with the crushed pistachio just like that or dip the tip of the ladoo into the ghee and then sprinkle the pistachio. ย Yummy ladoos are ready to be enjoyed.
