Easy Banana Bread | How to make Banana Bread

Almost everyone loves banana, other than a few who don’t like banana at all.   This Easy Banana Bread recipe is super moist and delicious, with loads of banana flavor.  Best way to make use of bananas when no one wants to eat them and you don’t feel like throwing them.

Easy Banana Bread

Today I was home with kids and trying to get things done.  Saw a couple of over riped bananas sitting on my kitchen counter.  Have been thinking of using them for the past two days, but wasn’t getting a chance.  I call my daughter and told her that she will be making this Easy Banana Bread following my recipe and instructions.   She was very happy as I keep telling her she needs to start learning things.

I am a little freak when it comes to my kitchen.  So I decided that I will have to keep my mouth shut and let her give it a try.  Under my supervision, my daughter who is 11 years old made this yummy bread.

I learned this from my second mother (what I call her) Becky, who worked with me in the past.  It is a simple recipe that if someone doesn’t know the basics of baking can also make it without any issues.   The mushier and the riper the bananas, the richer and sweeter the banana flavor will be.  My all time favorite bread other than orange bread.

Reasons I love Easy Banana Bread:

  • an easy bake
  • make use of over ripe banana
  • a good combination with a cup of tea or coffee
  • just because I love bananas 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick melted butter (8 tbsps)
  • 2 mashed ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

Directions:

First of all take the butter and eggs out of the fridge.  Let them be at room temperature.  If you forgot to take it out, you can put the eggs in the hot water for a few minutes and melt the butter in the microwave for 30-45 secs.  Let it sit for a few to cool down.

Now mash the bananas using a fork so that there are no thick lumps.  To this you can add vanilla essence, sour cream and cinnamon also.  In a small mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and whisk it a couple of times so that everything is mixed well.

At this time, add the flour mix into your kitchen mixer if using one.  Now add the butter and eggs together and run it once.  And now the banana and sour cream mixture.  Mix all the ingredients well for a few secs.

I used my Kitchen aid mixer to mix. You can use spatula to mix everything together,  Bake it at 325F for about 55-60 minutes depending on your oven.  Bread is done when your tooth pick comes out clean.

Once the bread is ready, let it cool down completely.  Cut it into thick slices and serve.  Serve it warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. It just taste so awesome.  Do try it and let me know what you think.
