Moong Dal Chilla (Savory Lentil Pancake)

A very healthy, nutritious replacement for carbs. ย This Moong Dal Chilla is very tasty & high in protein. ย If ย you are looking to be on a no-carb diet, look no further. ย Loved the way it tasted.

In a blender, put dal, ginger and green chilli. ย Blend it together without water if possible. ย If you see it is not working then add a little bit water to make smooth batter.

Now add the chopped cilantro, onion, scallions, salt and red chilli powder. ย Mix well. ย If the batter is too thick then add a little water to adjust the consistency. ย The consistency shouldn’t be too runny or thick.

Heat the fry pan and add like about half teaspoon of oil. ย Using a ladle, pour the batter and spread as thin as you can. ย Let it cook. ย If needed put a little oil all around the edge of the chilla. ย Scrape the sides with a ย flat spatula and turn.

Cook on the other side on a medium heat until done. ย You can flip one more time to make sure it is cooked all the way. ย Serve hot with any type of side. ย I served it with yogurt. ย In the yogurt I added half a teaspoon of mint chutney and gave it a mix.
