Simple Tofu & Vegetable Stir Fry

This is a simple Chinese style stir fry with garlic and vegetables. ย  It is one of my Mom’s recipe. ย This dish has so much flavor which you can eat it just like to avoid carbs or serve it over steamed white rice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pack of Firm or Extra Firm Tofu (Cut into cubes)
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 carrot thinly sliced
  • 1/2 bell pepper sliced
  • 8 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp of tomato ketchup
  • Soy sauce
  • 1 -2 tsp of chilli garlic sauce
  • chilli oil
  • Olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper

Directions:

Drain the water from the Tofu and let it sit so the excess water comes out. ย Cut into cubes and shallow fry or you can deep fry them as per your choice. ย I shallow fried them and set aside.

In a wok, add chopped garlic and sautee in a 2-3 tsp of oil and let them turn light brown.

Now add all the veggies and stir for a few on high flame. ย Add ketchup to the veggies and mix well.

Add the fried tofu to the veggies and mix. ย Also add black pepper, chilli garlic sauce, chilli oil and stir for a 3-4 minutes.

You can sprinkle a little water. ย Add soy sauce and cover it with a lid. ย Turn the gas off. ย This dish doesn’t have too much gravy. ย The gravy only come from the water you sprinkled and the soy sauce added.

Serve hot with steamed jasmine rice or you can eat it just like that.

  1. Hi I tried Tofu with vegetables stir fried .
    Extremely easy and tasty dish . I didnโ€™t have chilli garlic nor chilli oil , uses chilli flakes instead. Still came out good .
