This is a simple Chinese style stir fry with garlic and vegetables. It is one of my Mom’s recipe. This dish has so much flavor which you can eat it just like to avoid carbs or serve it over steamed white rice.
- 1 pack of Firm or Extra Firm Tofu (Cut into cubes)
- 1/2 cup broccoli florets
- 1/2 carrot thinly sliced
- 1/2 bell pepper sliced
- 8 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp of tomato ketchup
- Soy sauce
- 1 -2 tsp of chilli garlic sauce
- chilli oil
- Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp of black pepper
Drain the water from the Tofu and let it sit so the excess water comes out. Cut into cubes and shallow fry or you can deep fry them as per your choice. I shallow fried them and set aside.
In a wok, add chopped garlic and sautee in a 2-3 tsp of oil and let them turn light brown.
Now add all the veggies and stir for a few on high flame. Add ketchup to the veggies and mix well.
Add the fried tofu to the veggies and mix. Also add black pepper, chilli garlic sauce, chilli oil and stir for a 3-4 minutes.
You can sprinkle a little water. Add soy sauce and cover it with a lid. Turn the gas off. This dish doesn’t have too much gravy. The gravy only come from the water you sprinkled and the soy sauce added.
Serve hot with steamed jasmine rice or you can eat it just like that.
