Veg Soy Keema Matar

Keema or Qeema, originally mean minced meat.  Keema is very common north indian dish made with minced goat or lamb along with green peas.  I tried making the veg version of this dish using soy granules which is Veg Soy Keema Matar.   There are different ways of making this dish.  I used my moms way of making it in the kadhai itself so that it could be roasted well.  You can make it in a pressure cooker too but the taste is better if you make it in a kadhai.

DSC_3764Veg Soy Keema Matar is an awesome alternative for vegetarians specially on this Meatless Mondays.  There has been a lot of different views on Soy but in my opinion, “excess of everything is bad.”  You can consume soy but just don’t over do it.

DSC_3757Add the drained soy granules to the mixture.  Mix well and cook it covered until the peas are done.  Uncover it and check the spices and add paprika to it.  Mix and let it simmer, stirring every couple of minutes.

DSC_3758You will see that the color of the peas is not as bright as when you had first put them.  Let it roast for a couple of minutes uncovered.  Sprinkle chopped cilantro.
