Quick n Easy Kulfi

Kulfi is an Indian style ice-cream which can be made by adding different flavors such as badam, pistachio, kesar, elaichi.  This is a very quick and easy version that I have learned from my mom’s friend.  We absolutely loved it.  The traditional way takes a little longer.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of sweetened condense milk (14 oz)
  • 1 carton of heavy cream (16 oz)
  • 1/4 cup of evaporated milk
  • 1 slice of white bread (no sides)
  • elaichi, saffron, pistachios or almonds ( optional flavors)

Directions:

In a blender mix everything and blend it a couple of times so that the bread and whatever flavor you picked which is elaichi or almond for instance gets incorporated properly.

If you are not using any flavor then also blend it a couple of times.  The first layer on the bottom of the jar is  condensed milk, then heavy cream.  Make sure that the condense milk and everything else is mixed well, otherwise your kulfi will overly sweet.

Pour it in the kulfi moulds or popsicle moulds you are using.

Place it in the freezer for a good 7-8 hours or overnight.

Serve chilled simply like this, with hot gajrela, or use it in making falooda…

  2. Hi Sarika!

Thank you for this recipe. I made it at home and it got the highest honor of all times: “Kids Approval!!” :))

I have already made it twice and am planning to add a twist to this recipe by making Anjeer (Fig) ice cream for my upcoming BBQ party.
